Eye Can Philippines Partners with the Municipal Health Office of Iguig for an Eye Wellness Checkup: Good eye health should never be out of reach.
On September 4, 2026, Eye Can Philippines, in partnership with the Municipal Health Office of Iguig, brought essential eye care services closer to residents through an Eye Wellness Checkup held at the Municipal Gymnasium.
The community outreach initiative provided residents with an opportunity to have their eye health assessed, receive professional consultation, and access services that can help address their immediate eye-care needs.
174 Patients Served, 60 Potential Surgical Candidates Identified
A total of 174 patients were served during the activity. Each patient was given the opportunity to undergo an eye health assessment and receive professional consultation from an ophthalmologist.
Among those assessed, 60 patients were identified as potential surgical candidates, primarily for cataract, glaucoma, and other eye-related conditions.
Patients were also provided with free medicines, eyeglasses, and eye consultations, helping make essential eye care more accessible to members of the community.
But for Eye Can Philippines, an eye checkup is only the beginning.
For patients who were identified as needing surgery, the next step was to help schedule them for appropriate treatment. After all, an eye wellness activity should not end with a diagnosis—it should open the door to the care a patient needs to achieve better vision and a better quality of life.
